Vintage 1950s Sherman Aurora Borealis Swarovski Rhinestone Iridescent Floral Articulated Cuff Bracelet Signed.
Hand prong-set Swarovski chatons and marquis rhinestones. It consists of 5 hinged and domed links. Each link holds 26 chaton and marquis rhinestones that vary in size. The sensational ones are the huge 13 mm chatons, 4 in each link. Approximately 60 years old - All rhinestones are present and firmly hand prong-set. The tab insert clasp works well as does the safety chain. The rhinestones are in remarkably good condition. The rhodium plating shows normal wear for jewelry of this vintage.
The aurora borealis wash on rhinestones sometimes makes them appear yellow or lime green in daylight. Under nighttime lights, these rhinestones shine primarily pink or blue with flashes of purple, mauve, magenta even ochre depending on the light in the environment where they are worn. Dimensions:

Gustave Sherman founded his renowned Montreal-based company in 1947, producing high-quality Canadian costume jewelry until 1981. Known for using top-tier Swarovski crystals, specialized plating, and innovative, durable designs, Sherman jewelry often featured aurora borealis coatings. He manufactured high-end costume jewelry under the slogan "Jewels of Elegance" from 1947 until he retired in the early 1980s. His competitors at the time tended to use glues and plastics in order to produce high volumes of costume jewelry for the booming North American market. He did not. Instead, he chose to manufacture high quality jewelry “to last a lifetime”. Sherman jewelry, then as now, is considered by people in the business to be the very finest costume jewelry in quality as well as in design.
