Vintage 1930s Jolles Regina Micro Petit Point Hand bag Purse and Silver Filigree Clasp. Hand Made by needle point in Austria. Black with floral and pastoral scenes in greens, pinks, blues, brown and ecru. One side depicts ladies outside in a garden behind a manor framed in a floral wreath. The other side is the manor and its garden alone framed in the same floral wreath. Both sides have a family crest at top middle. The frame is brass with carved decoration. The clasp is silver filigree in a floral cage. Lined in a dark yellow gold color silk.
From the Victorian era through the 1930s, petit point and tapestry handbags were very popular among high society with the most examples containing a minimum of 900 stitches per square inch. This Austrian model is one of the most sought after brands of its time and contains 1600 stitches per square inch. And its silver floral filigree floral is delicately crafted.
