Vintage Original 1960s Afghan Velvet Embroidered Vest Jacket Waistcoat with Mandarin Collar. Bought on hippie trail by owner of this vest. Iconic piece of history that started the whole bohemian hippie fashion movement. Either made in Afghanistan or Turkey. Red cotton velvet or velveteen base. Embroidered with ivory appliqué cord and cut outs velvet hearts, flowers and diamond shapes in different colors. Mandarin style collar, open-front design, and traditional frog closures or loop buttons. Falls at hip and is slightly waisted. Lined in blue linen. Bohemian style reminiscent of Janis Joplin and Jimmy Hendrix. In great condition. Fits a size womens M or mens S depending on desired look and what you wear under. Model is a size 6 M.
