Vintage 1940s-1950s Mid Century Venetian Glass Beaded Wedding Cake Necklace. Hand knotted (cotton string) on the island of Murano in Italy in a graduated style. Set mainly of glossy black glass beads speckled with copper-colored aventurine flecks. In between are accent "wedding cake" white larger glass beads with raised pink, blue, and gold-swirled decorations (also known as fiorato lampwork beads). Holding the beads together is a small intricate brass filigree metal cap at the end of each bead. Bought at estate sale. In great condition. Total length: 27.5"
